PalmerSport are now charging people £75 if they want to be a passenger at Bedford trackdays.

While they claim you get access to other benefits (such as it allows you to be a driver, or have access to the Formula 2000 car) if you want to take your missus or a mate along as a passenger then that'll be another £75 thankyou (in addition to your £195 primary driver track day fee).

Stuff that.

I thought the tenner or so I paid last time I went on an SIDC day at Bedford was fine just to be a passenger. 75 QUID NO WAY.

Can we get Stef to comment?

This applies to the Palmersport days, not any other day booked there, so SIDC days will be excluded I expect. Bear in mind that the person paying £75 gets to drive a Palmersport car on track themselves, it's open pit format and the pit area is very small. I don't think its such a bad thing, but then I know the f2000 drive is worth £75 to any people I'd chose to take.

Right, but as the other thread mentions.. what if my missus doesn't want to drive a F2000 car ? She still has to pay £75

Why not make the F2000 car access a separate thing ?

David

Thanks for bringing this up - this has got to change. £75 including the single seater is actaully quite a good deal I think but my girlfriend has no interest indriving my caterham let alone a single seater.

And the Bedford pit lane is NOT that small at all. I've been there on events with lots of cars and there's plenty of room for passengers without the area becoming unsafe.

Just because we spend (a lot) of money on track days does NOT mean we are loaded so stop trying to rip us off or I'll spend my whole year doing Bookatrack.com events thank you very much!

I can see the line that ur trying to take, put the prices up to stop peopel just milling arround and making them selfs a safty hazard but £75!!! That is a little too much. Ok u get to go in a formula car but what if u dont want to!

Just seems a little be to much.

Guys.
This DOES NOT apply to SIDC events at Bedford.
If any of you decide to take than your Scoob to a Palmersport event at Bedford then all I can say is join the SIDC.

Stef.

I know this is pushing it a bit, but do any of these insurers cover outside of the UK.. like.. Australia?

Thanks in advanced!
