Hello all, hope I'm posting in the right section (if I am, go easy on me moderators!!!!!).

I currently do not own a Subaru (had a couple of Sunny's and a heavily modded CRX, no I'm not a hairdresser). I was just looking for some advice really, going to go for an import probably, have manypeople had experiences with Keighley? Or can anyone recommend anyone else to use. My budget is going to be around 8k, should I go for something like a version7, or get a mint older version? I hear the version 5's had a weaker engine, is this the case? I am not going to go mad with mods, just a decent exhaust and some ECU work probably (although who knows).

Any help would be good......

Are you sure you've checked out insurance before buying?

There are also loads of UK cars out there, many still standard, which would be within your budget, mod-able and cheaper to insure
