hi all.just wondering if i will need a remap if i get an exhaust with a de cat pipe a dump valve and a green cotton air filter.as im not to sure on this any help would be great cheers

 

the only things that would help are a decat exhaust and a remap. the rest is a waste of money and potentially damaging to the car.

If it's a full decat, then you'll need a remap. If it's just the second section decat, then you won't, but a remap will bring out the best from it.

Nothing wrong with Green air filters BTW, but do agree on not changing the DV (unless you like the chav image).

Hi I've got a freeflow panel filter decat down pipe and straight through center section on my 02 WRX.
Driven it like that for nearly 2 years no probs - also run on standard unleaded. You will hear lots of scare stories and old wives tales on here

you dont "need" a remap after fitting a full turbo back decat exhaust but it may give you some more power, the engine will be fine without it.

 

Do not get a dump valve unless you have a 15 year old bird and eat at mcdonalds !!


decat system will be fine with filter although k&n or STi will be good too

You dont needs a remap although 100 others will now post saying You MUST or your engine will blow up and you wont go to heaven etc and the same people will also tell you santa isnt real too !!!

 

You don't need a remap but it would be beneficial. Watch for overboost problems if you do decat without a remap.

It seems to have been reported that sti's and P1's would detonate a bit from a decat, being a bit close to the edge anyway.
