Default Ok, how the hell do i remove the pink STI fog lamp stickers??? They're welded on!!

ok, i got a hair dryer.. heated up the sti sicker and peeled it off.. it came of easy enough but left a residue..

first i tried a KFC moist wipe but that didnt remove it... then got some hot soapy water and that didnt remove it... then got some WD40, let it soak but that didnt remove it!! .. so i heated it with the hair dryer THEN soaked it in WD40.. but the residue is still there!! how in gods green earth do i get rid of it???

p.s the reason i am removing it is because some prat bumped the front of my scoob.. only paint work damage but i needed to replace the sti sticker, when i got my replacement i discovered after sticking it on that they had sent me the wrong friggin colour! (the one was slightly more pink than the previous one which was a bit more red).. doesnt sound like much but in the daylight its noticeable when u compare it to the original on the otherside!

so ive got my new sticker... just need to remove that residue!! any ideas?? cheers

I had a similar experience with the residue left after removing a rear number plate that had been kept on by sticky pads, boy did that take a lot of elbow grease to get that off the car but I used a combination of t-cut followed by safe-cut and that took it off no problem.

I wouldnt use jiff as it contains an abrasive not suitable for paint it will scratch the paint especially plastic covers if u have access to spirit wipe or panel wipe as they call it use that if not tar and glue remover will do use a soft cloth and let it soak into the glue then buff off with a bit of polish

I used CPU Core Cleaner, worked well, didn't damage the paint and smells nice too (Citrus based)!

To remove the adhesive residue - Lighter Fluid as used in Zippo style lighters. It does not damage paint or plastic

Hair dryer to heat the glue and then is should peel off. Then a bit of T-cut or wax to remove the last little bits.

Hairdryer only required - heat them up then just roll it off.

Another for hair dryer and nothing else..

Just be careful as you'd be surprised how hot the paint can get..!
