Just trying to get back all the money they've paid for modding them. Well over priced. At a glance, the silver one lOOks nice.

A lot of Imprezas are massively over priced. My MY00 with 102k with same bhp as that silver one is worth £4-4.5k realistically.

I sent a message to the guy asking for 8K and he sent me one back saying he only really wants 7500k and know's that people will bid him down.

I then sent him another mail asking if he was taking the pi55 asking for 8k for and N reg car and i have not heard from him again

Some people are priceless.

There is a bloke in the gym I go to, until recently had a P-reg WRX - really ratty, lowered too much, nasty pimp tints etc. etc.

Anyway, heard him chatting to his mate about the car - 'Yeah, I'd let it go for 7 thou.....'. Nearly dropped the bar on my neck when bench-pressing. He'd have been lucky to get 3.5k.

The car is worth what the buyer will pay for it, simple as that! I'd argue that these are overpriced in the current market. I'm also very dubious about the torque figure on the first car 340 ft lbs and no mention of a turbo change, I don't think so!

I've said it many times before, and I am biased, having a low milage classic, but I think in a few years the value of decent classics will appreciate significantly, just out of rarity -their iconic status also helps!

Slight rose tinted spec's there NS. I think only the special editions would be in that bracket and usually non-modded ones.

That your excuse for not getting a hatch?

LOL You may be right mate, especially since mine is modded. But then again, there is always the specialist market i.e. folks in the know on here. In two years time what would you say my chances are selling a two owner < 50k mile Classic immaculately maintained and worked on by the likes of Bob Rawle!

I bet if I look at that market, I would be able to find someone who would take my hand off up to the elbow!

That said, I have no intention of selling, so even if I'm totally wrong, I still have a great car. That's why you should buy what you like and not what makes sense in terms of resale value!

But you already know that as no-one buys an Impreza cause of its healthy depreciation!

Tell you something Gaz, if I were to buy another Scooby I'd get one that'd already been expertly modded and let the original owner absorb the bill this time!!

Yours would be a great candidate.

Turbo timer on a non turbo car is about as much use as a pack of Durex at a Roman Catholic church convention!
