A good mate has one. I would have the Scooby all day long though.

Also could you put up with the looks? Fecking ugly cars!

My friend has had one almost since new... UK car with only other previous owner being Nissan UK. Now basically a track toy and great fun car. As above the gearbox is weak (Quaife gear kit has been fitted in his) and also a common problem is the clutch pedal bracket coming off the fire wall.... needs welding back with beefier bracket. Apart from that he has Apexi Ecu, HKS cams and various other mods and runs a nice 300bhp or so. Takes serious abuse around Oulton Park and still on standard internals with no problems.... brakes are not standard tho (they are shi*e!).

Tony.

I had one and didnt think much of it at all. They are quite unreliable.
As mentioned the choclate gearbox struck again and rust. Plenty other things went wrong with it. They have strong engines tho.
I sold it then bought my subaru and ive never looked back

as above crap gearbox, not that quick in standard trim but quick when modded, not that nice inside crap brakes but was actually quite nice to drive/handling wise. whatever you do fit bonnet pins as the catch rusted on mine and flipped the bonnet into the windscreen,a check on gtiroc and it was a common problem and windscreens arent cheap

Most of them have Oil seal problems on the Crank... but it's not too hard / expensive to correct

I had a Pulsar a couple of years ago for about a year and a half and loved it, It was mildly modded (exhaust, induction and cams) running 14psi it had 290 odd bhp and was awesome fun! (and cheaper to insure) 0-60 in 4.25secs!!Really regret selling it but admittedly the g.box did go (may have been due to the fact that the guy I got it from put it in second at 90mph instead of forth!) More reliable than the imprezas my mates have had with simalar power and the drive split means they 4 wheel drift REALLY well! But I have grown up a little and got myself a WRX wagon. Can't beat the sound! (Make sure the clutch is good too cos it is a BIG job to change!!)
