Default Bonnet dampers - recommend?

Anyone got any thoughts on these:

Subaru Impreza GC7 GC8 Carbon Gas Bonnet / Hood Damper - eBay Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 17-Oct-07 18:55:20 BST)

Avoid seller with a bargepole? Avoid this mod in general?

Ta.

why?

I have had a set of these on my MY00 classic for over a year now and they are fantastic, didn't get them from ebay mind, one of the guys in our club makes them to order.

One of the easiest, cheapest and best mods I have done.

Cheers. Only asked about avoiding a I seem to remember someone saying it was hard to close and they thought the bonnet may get damaged due to the pressure needed to close. Maybe just on the first occasion? Or maybe just a bad set? Are they easy to close without feeling like you are going to bend the bonnet?
