Considering a new car, opinions please??
Right, I am currently in the process of applying to Sellafield, where there's apparently a number of positions in my area of work. If - by chance - I manage to get in, I am seriously considering getting rid of mine, and getting something newer. It will primarily be a weekend/nighttime toy; but will be used for work, etc occasionally. I want something brutal, hopefully around 400bhp with simlar torque, and driveability aswell. I will hopefully have around 16-17k to spend on this; but that may just buy me the car, and I will have to save for mods ie, there isnt much available with 400bhp in stock form!
I was thinking along the lines of; Spec C with engine mods, Blob eye shape Litchfield Type 25 (pushing the budget), a forged build P1, a Stroker'ed Evo 6 Tommi Makinen, Evo 8 MR FQ... with mods. Or maybe a TVR Tuscan; but they're supposedly a tad unrelieble!!
What are everyone's thoughts/opinions/ideas/experiences??
Cheers

Despite owning an STI, I think all 3 are relatively unreliable and expensive to run.
Any reason why you need 400 bhp?
What is your current car running?

Not really set on 400, just want rapid and driveability if poss.
Current car is a classic running 325bhp/3126lbft, which is fairly feckin rapid, compared to my previous cars; but I just want something a bit stupid!!
Plus, I just fancy a new aswell!!

I would push your budget to get this
Litchfield Imports
You could spend 16 - 17k on a lesser car and end up spending more money to get the car exactly how you want it, by getting the above its all done for you and they hold their value very well.

Most of the blobeye T25s are 350/350 rather than 400/400. However, I am not aware of any particular reliability issues with them, other than a propensity for the Cosworth-engined cars to use a bit of oil (according to some recent comments on here).
However, I think your budget is a little too small for even one of the earlier cars unless you find someone desperate to sell.

I must admit, I have seen that one, very nice indeed. Although, when I come to buy, chances are it will have sold! Do like those blob eye Type 25's though, im sure I could wait another couple of months and get one of those.
But I am also really tempted to go to the dark side, and enter into Evo ownership. I just love those Red Tommi Makkinen's, with white wheels.
Just look at this one, sex on wheels!!
