It cost me nothing as the parts came from the spares bin in work. Although to buy it would be aroun £700, although cheaper versions that do the same job are available.

The camera takes a photo every 30 seconds or so, but also has amotion sensor which will flick it to record every second until movement stops.

Images are uploaded by the camera to my home PC, and in parallel to my works FTP server.. just incase someone nicks my pc

Just runs over a standrad broadband line Anyone whos intereste din more detail let me know!

Its not fantastic during the dark, I haven't had it installed long and intend to wire up a motion sensing flood light to back it up. The cam has a signal wire, so if the light comes on it will again start the camera recording.. until the light goes off.

Currently at night the motion sensor packs in and it just continues recording constantly (however it takes very little storage space on pc/server. Typically i clear the files out once a month!

Done the same about 1yr ago, got a dvr card from ebay for 1p and got a night cam, covers my car and you get to see the wifes car across the road too, then installed alittle 120w floodlight, just set my to auto record from 10pm to 7am,

Works really well and rough cost about £50
