power fc question
i'm looking at fitting a power fc but i was told by one garage that there not worth fittimng.
he said due the the 3rd piston running 200 - 300 degrees hotter than the others this ecu will just cause the piston to melt. He said that other ones are better suited as you can use them to change how the pistons are running to help this problem?
What shall i do. i already have the ecu so shall i dsell it an buy another or fit it. Two garages said it'd be fine...

Speak to JollyGreenMonster.co.uk or Zen Performance - Performance upgrade solutions for Japanese cars or AndyForrestPerformance these are some of the people who use them (and to great effect ) and see what they say.

Sounds like utter twaddle to me..........
Power FC is a very good and affordable aftermarket ecu used by nearly all of the respected scooby tuners.
Perhaps said garage was trying to flog you their own preferred ecu

it all becomes brilliantly clear, the motec ecu's are excellent but they are about 3 grand mapped, where as the apexi which also has an enviable reputation is about 950 mapped, wonder why they would try and sell the motec instead????????????????????

Ha ha ha, if the 3rd cylinder ran 2-300 degrees hotter, that would be a major design flaw in the engine. Absolute B0llocks.
A Motec ECU and a days mapping will never match an Apexi PFC in driveability.
