power fc question
i'm looking at fitting a power fc but i was told by one garage that there not worth fittimng.
he said due the the 3rd piston running 200 - 300 degrees hotter than the others this ecu will just cause the piston to melt. He said that other ones are better suited as you can use them to change how the pistons are running to help this problem? What shall i do. i already have the ecu so shall i dsell it an buy another or fit it. Two garages said it'd be fine... |
Speak to JollyGreenMonster.co.uk or Zen Performance - Performance upgrade solutions for Japanese cars or AndyForrestPerformance these are some of the people who use them (and to great effect:) ) and see what they say.
|
Please name and shame the garage! Absolute tosh!
|
Sounds like utter twaddle to me..........
Power FC is a very good and affordable aftermarket ecu used by nearly all of the respected scooby tuners. Perhaps said garage was trying to flog you their own preferred ecu ;) :D Chris |
the garage was torgue developments and they were advising motec ecu's. Thats out of my price range at the moment
|
apexi power fc in a fab ecu, end off.
tes the motec is very good also, but both are only as good as the mapper! i have had very good experience form both Paul @ zen performance, and Simon aka jollygreenmonster, both on this forum. worth there weight in gold :) |

I believe Andy F still runs 2 x Power FCs. Says it all really.
|
Ha ha ha, if the 3rd cylinder ran 2-300 degrees hotter, that would be a major design flaw in the engine. Absolute B0llocks.
A Motec ECU and a days mapping will never match an Apexi PFC in driveability. |
thanks, worried me a bit lol.
Thought i'd brought the wrong ecu for the car! |

lol...
Apexi also has injector trim so the reason given could be resolved on Apexi Power FC anyway. Simon |
Torque Developments are a bunch of muppets i would sty well clear.
They ****ed a good friend of mine around with his GT4 a couple of years back. Also their customer service is appaulling and have you seen their hourly rate :nono: |

And the car ran like a bag of s***e after |

Cant each individual cylinder be trimmed with the PFC? Its true that cylinder three is prone to failure, but this is due to its position at the end of the fuel rail (and being farthest from the oil pump too...).

Sorry Simon, I only read the whole thread after Id commented.....
