Default GB270 ltd edition

Hi All,

Just been looking at the spec of the GB270. Is this just a stock saloon/wagon with PPP, or is it realy worth the extra. I am looking at replacing my MY05 SL saloon in the next month or so, and was wondering if they are worth the extra. Had a search on here but not much info on if its worth the extra or not.

Leather is an optional extra so would an 07 SL with PPP be better?

Many thanks

Dave

Thanks for that Guthrie found it after the second look. Do like the wagon nice colour and just love those wheels.

Still not sure if its much better value for money over an MY07 with PPP. Need to see it in the flesh I think.

Thanks for the help.

I would rather have a few month old STi from a dealer. They do look nice, but then thats how you shift loads of WRX's that haven't sold before the 2008 comes out.

Don't forget that there is no WRX in the new model line up or a Saloon, the STi is not about till '08.

However, Iain Litchfield is importing the GT and S-GT for less than the WRX 270.

If the GB270 Saloon came in the same body and alloy colour combo as the Wagon I would deffo have one of those, looks great IMO!

As to whether or not it's worth it, not too sure on that one!

It appears to be faster 0-60 than an STI?

Why would they sell a cheaper car that's quicker than their top of the range performance model?

The WRX PPP can hit 60 in 2nd, the STi with it's shorter ratio 6-speed box, needs to be in 3rd so the 0-60 time is a fraction more.

You can get a new Sti for circa£21k from Allbrandsnew!

Would have been really tempted by the gb270 but its about £4k to dear to even contemplate instead of an Sti!

That's an import. What you save in sale price you pay for in insurance and getting the car up to spec to be insured in the first place.

Bollocks

My MY05 WRX costs the same to insure as a 'UK' car because its the same as a 'UK' spec ie side airbags, got a Tracker,Cat1 alarm, climate,SWRT interior/fog light covers, gold alloys and I saved over £3k on buying a standard 'UK'one, without the extras!

Do a search on UK and Euro imports.

Plus thats an STI i was talking about, not a WRX.

A nearly £3k saving, not to be sniffed at!!

I was quite interseted in the GB270 Wagon until I saw the price.

In the current climate I think it's way overpriced. Especially considering you can get a stock WRX Wagon for £17-18k.

I think I'll just keep my MY05 Wagon PPP for now.

I thought they came without alarms and needing remaps to run on UK fuel and stuff or is that just the JDM ones? These must be euro imports are they? I always get quoted more for insurance when looking at imports...

Still 6 and 2 3s IMO as the resale is less on imports... depends how long you plan to keep it I suppose.

Saying that I would never buy a new car from anywhere. I always get em 1 year old and as good as new saving about £8-9K usually.

Think you're getting mixed up with the JDM cars.

I've been down the import road before with motor bikes and the resale value was negligble between an import and a so called UK spec bike, apart from I saved a fair bit of cash!In fact on my last import(ZX6r) I paid £5k new, traded it against an R6(£5400) 18mths later,at the same dealer and got £4600 for it.I later traded in the R6 against a 748r(£6395) and got £5200 p/x!

The Sti at Allbrands comes with all the UK security, stuff ie Cat1/Tracker.

Don't forget that you could order different seats from a UK dealer without airbags as well, similar to Sti ones

New SUBARU Car, Buy IMPREZA SALOON 2.5 WRX STi Type UK 4dr from £20,744.00

Subaru Malta, where mine came from are quite happy for it to be serviced as per UK schedules.

I see what you're saying about buying a 1 year old car but there's nothing quite like buying a new car, knowing that you're the first owner and not thinking what it was treated like, prior to you buying it!

I would have never bought a brand new car until I came across the price of Euro Imports, with that saving I could not say no to my WRX, only difference was no alarm (did have immobilisor), no locking wheel nuts or side air bags, insurance was the same and the non airbag seats are more comfortable than air bag seats anyway and look better, in my opinion.

I'm not knocking UK cars at all and if money was no object would have bought one, it just grates my goat that Subaru IM add over 3k to the price of a UK car for equipments that is no where near that price, I bought mine from a small importer who was just as proffesional as my not so local main dealer who have no closed down anyway.

I asked two dealers for a price to swap my Spec B for a 270 Tourer and neither bothered to come back to me with a price, so I brought something non Subaru this time around.
