Toyo help needed
Hello there i wonder if anyone could help me??
I own a Hawkeye.
The tyres that are on the car are 225/35/17.
I have seen a set of Toyo T1R'S but they are 235/45/17.
Would they be OK??
Would the 235 fit on the standard Alloy.

The standard tyres on a uk/euro STI are 225/45/17 and not 35. You can fit 235/45/17 if you wish but the speedo would read incorrectly. There are websites that offer tyre size calculators which will calculate the nearest rolling radius that you will require. I don't have a link but someone will hopefully be along shortly with one.

On 35 profile tyres your speedo will be way out !
I thought about 35's for trackday use, (to make it feel even faster, LOL).
You can get reinforced sidewalls, is the ride quality awful ?
Mine is but I don't care !

If the original tyre size is 225/45-17 then going to 235/45-17 will make the speedo read 1.5% lower, but since it normally reads up to 10% high that will make it more accurate rather than less. Checking the speedo against a GPS unit will help you work out whether 235's are ok, but it would only really be a problem with the speedo if it was already reading exactly right.
If on the other hand the original tyres are really 225/35 then that's a huge jump in size...
