Default wagon ecu and turbo ???

hi could any body tel me what ecu a 95 wagon wrx import should be running? also shold it have a td 04 or a td 05 turbo ? if its got an sti engine fitted would it still be a ej20 engine?

It should have a TD04 turbo and a 4B ECU (making 220ps/218bhp). Whilst it may very well have an 'STI engine' fitted, I doubt it. To be sure find the engine type number and post it here.

hi thanks for ya help mate i for got to say its an import would that make the bhp any more? also i cant post up engine number as im going to look to buy the car, is there any way of telling if it is an sti engine ?

All WRXs (and automatic Classic Imprezas) are Japanese imports. JDM 'Wagons (and automatic Saloons too) use a smaller TD04 turbocharger nad produce 22ps, no matter what the vendor tries to tell you..... In my opinion, the probability of this auto having an STI engine fitted are next to zero.

It means that you will have to change gear yourself. Other than that the turbocharger and rated output are similar.

so what your saying is a uk wagon is better than a import?

you would get a better idea of its service history with a uk wagon plus it wll have the td05 turbo standard,if you want a wagon, if not saloons have td05 aswell pre96(couple of early wrx variations)
