Default Sports Cat on a MY03 WRX PPP?

Hi All,

Loving my WRX PPP wagon but now want a bit more grunt. I am considering a Ninja Sports cat down pipe of similar. Would I need a remap along with the pipe? If so, I would probably collect a few other goodies and get them all put on and remapped at the same time. If I did put this on without a remap would it give me any more Bhp?

Thanks for any advice given

A remap would make the most of the improved flow through the downpipe. Power Engineering recommended that the uppipe should also be changed at the same time as the cat in it can get too hot, break up and send bits of the cat into the turbo.

A remap should get you about 280-290 bhp

I have a Ninja sportscat, H & S deresonated decat centre pipe and Prodrive backbox.

Big improvement on driveability with a remap - makes the car more rev happy, responsive .... and quicker !

Wouldn't simply fit and leave as is - as I understand it the Newage ECUs are more fussy about this sort of thing and if not remapped fueling issues can result.

Anyway, do it !

AS above really. New fuel pump for safety, de-cat up pipe, and in my case the TSL Thundercat downpipe, which when i bought it was f'ing expensive.
But yet again last week it proved its worth when my car flew through its second MOT!

I have the decat up-pipe and Walbro also - so difficult to remember them all when you've got so many mods !
