Question

Hi all

Perhaps you can help me with this. My MY00 UK Turbo, now with 5k on the clock seems to be lacking somewhat in the acceleration department. In all gears when I put my foot down the turbo makes all the right noises but the car seems to be holding back. It feels as if the Turbo is blowing but the air is not getting to the right place. I have always run on super UL and have tried an ECU reset but still no different.

Has anybody else experienced and fixed a problem like this. I don't think that it's the old "You've just got used to the speed and now you want more syndrome". Perhaps if any fellow Scooby owners in the Basingstoke area (UK) wants to have a ride and tell me if this is the case then I am will to bow to there experience.

Help much appreciated.

Thanks

Scoobs

SCOOBS,
Could be your lamba sensor this controls exhaust gases used to power the turbo.I had a problem with accelaration on my last sti and a new lamba sensor cured it.
Regards,
Buddy

Perhaps it hasn't loosened up properly yet. Also, I think the ECU adjusts to your 'style' if you drive around like an old granny for a while. And the weather was unseasonably warm today which will have an effect.

Carl

I have tried an ECU reset more than once. Each time the car seemed to perform better but soon reverted back to its lack luster self. I do drive the car quite hard... Basingstoke lends itself to lots of short fast squirts between roundabouts

Scoobs,
I've got a MY00 Turbo, it's done 7.5k now and does seem to be getting quicker with more miles.

I have the same (mild) holding back problem you described although it's doesn't always do it. At the first service the dealer found the lambada sensor was reading "out of range". It's getting fixed on warranty - I'll let you know if this fixes the holding back or gives any extra welly!

Cool

I too own a MY00 with 7000 miles on the clock and it is only just starting to feel as I would expect. Feels much smoother and responsive to drive now and I am not sure if this is down to the miles, the current weather or the fact that I have started using SUL a couple of weeks ago??
