coil problems i think!

Default coil problems i think!

ive got an 1994 wrx sti and since i swaped it for my rx7 its been giving me hell! wen im giveing it sum or sumtimes wen im driveing round town its holding back, miss fireing spluttering! i dont really no but sumtime wen im driveing at 30 it starts to slow down til i just about stop and then the power just **** back!! then theres other time wen there pops from under the bonnet and me boost gauge flickers and the car just wont go!!! ive been told it could be me cloil packs but b4 i pay £479 inc vat from subaru id like to no if any 1 else has got or had the same problem!! thanx

doesnt sound like coil packs to me usally if the coil packs are playing up the car will hesitate at around 3k-4k then pick up again

and also you can get brand new coil packs of fleabay for £49.99 each

how often does it happen?

sumtimes starting is a problem!! like now ive just got in from work and it wouldnt let me go past 4k! then once id turned it of and started it up and drove it did it a few more times then was ok! i jusyt dont get it! theres no smoke and have just had the fuel filter changed?

could be the crank sensor.....


have you got an engine check light on?

Does your car seem to hit a wall , backfire and carry on ?

yea it dose that hittin a wall thng sumtimes then takes off! and b4 u i spent £800 in subaru gettin it serviced the check engine lite used to flicker now and again! its really irratateing!

Can you not spell a bit better and not use text speak??

I used to play in Billingham Beck as a kid - Billingham people are not usually ignorant (well, weren't when I was playing there in the 1930's!)

ignore mystery or whatever hes called, hes a ********. im no mechanic, but sounds like your overboosting, or at tleast the feel of hitting the wall then carrying on as normal points to it. why not take it to your nearest subaru specialist... not dealer, they wil charge the earth.

just got me self sum new coils so im goni to try them and ill let you no if that dont solve it im gna get a computer check thngy!!! i no wot its called but cant spell it!1 i just ewant me baby subaru to work properly!

na it never sorted the splutter problem but that dont matter now as ive just been giveing it sum on way bk from work hit sum desiel and gone sideways over the central reservation! not happy i tell ya!

Could well be coil-packs - i had mine renewed on exactly the same model/car/year -youll need an indpendant possibly, with subaru portable diagnostics moniter ( **** going to dealer ) - 80 notes 2nd hand

a cant get a new 1!! i fought i was gettin a gud deal for me rx7 but it was shagged~! so ive spent £1000s fixing it and have to much love for it! and me bird dont want to! it will fix to my standard and wen it **** to changeing the car in a few years am just gna break it for bits!! cos sum1 ripped me wen i bought it i cant do that to sum1 else!
