Default So how much is my car tax going to be...

I've been on the DVLA website and found this link: The cost of vehicle tax for cars, motorcycles, light goods vehicles and trade licences : Directgov - Motoring

My car is an 03 WRX, am I right in saying its going to cost £300 for 12 months?

OMG!!!

No, £205 for 12 months, Band G (£300) only applies to cars registered after the 23rd March 2006.

I totally agree, and that's the **** thing about this country, people WILL pay, as I will as we have to, unless something major is done, nothing will change.

Sorry to hear about your local dealer doubling the prices..

I won't pay. Sold the Scoob and now have a 65mpg diesel in the £115 bracket.

Nowhere near as quick as the Scoob (obviously) with cornering speeds down by 30-40mph, but a rewarding drive with lots of feedback and excellent dynamics IMHO. Suffers a little with body roll, but already fitted a rear ARB and am planning some intake mods and a remap to get over 300ftlb. Also on the lookout for some 03-05 STi wheels with RE070's on so I can have some proper fun on track. Mostly though it earns me money as a driving instructor car.

I honestly can't recommend it highly enough. I know it ain't no Scoob and I would love to have another Impreza sat in the drive for weekend fun, but I had a Dales blast in the Fabia last week and it was a hoot. The Corsa I was teaching in before made me realise not only how good Scoobs were, but how bad ordinary cars can be. This little tug-boat has restored my faith that there are some good other cars out there that aren't blue.
