i have had both boxes and am using a tsl right now on my sti......both are very good, prodrive would just shade the tsl on quality imho but thats being really fussy.just really boils down to price and how they sound when fitted,i'd be happy with either

For your car mate the Prodrive one would be better. No point having a Spec D then having too loud an exhaust.

Have you fitted a de-resonated centre section ?
l read on here that for the full effect of any back box you need the straight through centre section is this correct ? ? ? ?

I initially changed my back box for a prodrive one (that I already owned), but have since changed to a tsl. It gives a slightly deeper noise but you need to change the resonated section to get the full noise.

Without changing the resonated section, you wont see much difference in noise, maybe a bit more burble, but certainly not the scooby sound we all know. Since changing the resonated section, the car sounds amazing and feels a bit more torque. Spoke to my dealer who supplied it and he said it would affect the warrany on the exhaust only. I just wasn't prepared to drive it for three years sounding like it did. The exhaust note really brings the car alive for me.

Yep, know what you mean, although I have just sold my old prodrive one for £50 and tbh they are all stainless steel and shouldnt really have anything wrong. The only thing to check is the hangers either side dont get bent during transit, but if its packed propertly you will be ok.

I've got the Prodrive on my05 STi and wasn't that sure about the sound until I changed the centre section for an H&S straight thru and got rid of the resonator - now it sounds great. Quiet enough on motorways but nice burble and roars on fully monty !

I think looks great as well and not too over the top

When I bought mine from tsl about 4 months ago it needed no further hangers although it did come with a second hanger, for it to be fitted to a classic. You could ring tsl-mototsport and ask them.
