Christ, that's hideous.. I'd be tempted to sell my 02 just so I wouldn't be associated with a company that could make a car that ugly...
Maybe that's a bit over the top, but it's still horrible.

well thats a step backwards it looks like a nissan almera big thumbs down from me.Still one good thing the residuals of the classics might go up as i cant see anyone getting rid of their current scooby for one of these. Not if they have an ounce of taste anyway

Mmmm. Not too sure about the look at all. Lots of people comparing it to a Mazda3/Astra/Almeira etc etc and you can see why. Subaru going down the hatchback road was always gonna be a controversial move lets face it. Nobody seems to know for sure if a saloon will be available, or only available in Japan, or not made at all at this stage do they?
Quite like the interior, but wether that feels well made or cheap and 'plasticky' in the flesh will be the make or break factor for even that.

Personally I quite like it, and no doubt the STI when it's eventually released will look significantly more aggressive, in much the same way as the VXR does over the Astra Sporthatch.
Whilst it might not be everyone's cup of tea here. I'm sure this car will appeal to a much wider audience. Which is what Subaru will be trying to achieve, they are trying to make money afterall, not pander to a niche market. Whether it's able to compete with the best of the rest in this sector however is another story, much will depend on its build quality both inside and out as well as it's performance!

i've said it on another thread, but that car will kill the impreza line
if that's an sti, god help it and even if the sti looks rallyesque and sells well there will be no market for the WRX as it looks sooooooo fooking awful
subaru have never been at the front for pretty cars, but who the hell rubber stamped that design and why is the intercooler half the size it should be?
utter disaster.

I heard something from Autoexpress that the standard Turbo Impreza would not be available in hatchback form
And if those photos are actually real, and the STI is going to look like that....well, it wont be long before we all get an emergency facelift

I hope everyone hates it as much as I think it's great because I can then bag myself a new bargain ....................... just as I did in 1982 when the new Sierra came out
Everyone hated them, then grew to love them, I got back every penny I paid for it 18months down the line

absolute cack!! Ugliest car I ever seen! Imprezas should look menacing. This one looks timid and embarassing. The Subaru designers have not got a clue. We buy Imprezas because they are WRC lookalikes amongst other reasons. Imagine this car in a World Rally. Might actually win as other drivers would crash laughing at it. At least residuals on proper Scoobs will be boosted by this BIG mistake. Subaru made their money out of carving out a certain niche in the market. Why they suddenly want to appeal to the 'family man' is beyond me. Should stick to what they know best and not meddle in a market they obviously do not have a clue about. Even if they had produced something that looked like the VXR but with obvious Subaru running gear and handling I might be happy. This is a non contender!!
