Default STONE CHIPS....!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just finished washing/waxing the car and have noticed a stone chip that looks like it starting to rust. Is there anything that I can do without repainting as its the only stone chip on this particular panel.

As above, pop to your local dealership, they`ll sort you out a touch up stick

You cant buy them from a main dealer at the moment because they have been withdrawn from sale on health and safety reasons .Got mine mixed up at halfords.

Tip for you. When touching-up stone chips use a wooden toothpick to apply the paint from the touch-up pen/stick. Much more control and you apply a little at a time to build up the layers letting each one dry before applying the next.

I hate to say it but is your car an import? If this is the case then the same rigourous anti corrosion techniques will not have been implemented. Unfortunately salt is in high use on our ever decaying roads (thank 10 years of labour government for that).

I am not surprised the paint has chipped Subaru paint is made from recycled dried horse droppings, its as brittle as 0.1mm thick glass. Hit a common house fly in the summer at 32 mph and you'll have a paintchip the size of the Hole of Horcum on your bonnet.

Trade it in for an Audi and realise the mistake you made.

Kind Regards,
Bluto

Cheers for the info guys. Not sure if its rust or just discoloured. Will touch it up ASAP. Its more annoying as I try my best to avoid Stone Chips. Bluto22b - my next car will probably be German but of the M3 variety.
