The Ultimate Weight Saving....
So as part of my re-build scooby and more attempts to keep weight down oh yeah and save money....
Could you run a dry cell Bike Battery ?
Whats the minimum CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) that a classic Scooby would require ?
If it's a no go, then where is a good source for cheap Dry Cell Batteries ?
Thanks
Chris.

Id go for a Varley and try to save weight elsewhere. Treat your tyres and remove the spare and tools. Remove the airconditioning kit. Remove over-sized aftermarket wheels and tyres and replace them with light wheels in an OEM size. Remove the electric windows and fit manual lifters from a GL. Remove the carpets and take out the sound deadening then refit the carpets. If you are happy to lose the standard look of your car you can replace the side glasses with far lighter perspex parts (although Id suggest fitting a film on both sides to prevent scratches). Lightened engine pulleys and a lightened flywheel are often over looked too. Personally Id remove the radio and speakers and Id remove the rear spoiler too.....

it's pretty much a shell now so all of the above can be ticked as Done. cheers.
Although i have had to fit electric windows as the winders didnt work with the Roll Cage.
It's just i have seen plenty of Gell Cycle batteries and wondered if i could use one.
I guess its the CCA of the car thats the big decider on it all.
Cheers
