131mph in a 60mph zone.

One of our esteemed bus drivers in Ireland was caught doing 131mph in a 60 on his motorbike last week. The judge turned to him and asked him to explain himself. The driver said he had a problem with his bike and the judge said what, was is not going fast enough for you. The driver said he needed to de-coke the carburettors and he only done it for a quater of a mile. This is the best bit, his punishment............. £300.00 fine and no ban. Jammy git.

My friend was caught doing 147mph in a 60 a few years back (ZXR750), he got 28 day ban, £600 fine and 6 points. The police confirmed he was the only person on the road at the time (early hours of the morning on a bank holiday). I'd say the Irish chap was very lucky!

Lucky g*t!
I got a 1 year ban for doing 140mph on the motorway! (in the early hours of the morning - and the coppers did'nt have their lights on)
Any famous excuses I should use if caught for speeding???

Never used it myself, but a mate swears he got off with just a warning using the following.
FZR600, clear road, 100+. Winds it down into a 40 zone, police car comes up, flashes him to pull over. Policeman says: "You were going very fast earlier -- do you know what speed you were doing?"
Mate says: "I was concentrating on the road ahead, not the speedometer ..."
