Default CEL Solution

Got Downpipe/Up Pipe goes great.

CEL now comes on as Cats out. I've got an Eliminater to sick in the ECU to stop this.

Not keen to mess with the ECU. Found a US thing calles A SPARK PLUG NON FOULER.

It's 2 sockets, you bore 1 out & onnect it to your sensor & screw back into the exhaust. Been to 4 Car Part places this morning, no one knows about this. Saw a post on the Net, someone says they (Evo Owner) had to order them from the US??

Any one got any idea where I could get a pair over here?

Thanks.

Kind
regards

If its a newage car you can do a simple fix with a 12 pence resistor from Maplins without fiddling with the exhaust.

This is a link to a previous thread. Hopefully the photo links will still work.

No probs. PM me if you get stuck, but its really simple. Should be obvious where to stick the resistor once its in the U shape. Give it a drive and the light may not go out immediately but should do once the ecu has had a bit of time to think about it! Its either 12k 2watt or 12k 2 ohm resistor. There will only be one with type of 12k 2..

Yep. I took mine for a blast round the block and the light was still on when I switched her off. Next morning the CEL light didn't come on and that was 45,000 miles ago! CEL has come on for a different code so the resistor just fixes that exhaust temp sensor after decat.

Hey, thanks for that.

I was a bit twitchy after the 2 pipes fitted, seems a different motor.

Well it is, having so much fun in it after this!

When the CEL light came on, felt as though someone had wee weed on my Fireworks.

Again thanks for all the help.

This is the nice side of SN.
