Buzzer at 120mph
From 120mph upwards my wing mirror (06 sti) makes a mad buzzing noise with the wind. My 03 sti used to do the same. Is this common?
It doesn't bother me, it just reminds me of an evacuation siren!!!

My STi used to do this too... As I discovered whlie overtaking a Range Rover on the motorway in France... Was late for the ferry, and was going about 130 at the time. Thought at first they were beeping their horn at me, but had the noise when I hit the same sort of speeds later on with no other cars around...
Havn't had a chance to see if my Forester makes the same noise yet!

Just a bit of fun on a clear bit of road.
Dont appreciate people who dont even know me commenting like that.
If you do feel like you are a 'hardman' who likes to get cocky and throw his weight around im more than happy to meet up and discuss this further. Other wise please dont try to trade insults in a chat room. We can all try and be 10 men behind a keyboard.

If someone wants to come passed you why no let them? The more you've got the less you need to show...

Not a keyboard warrier, just stating that you sound like the kind of driver i'd rather keep clear of.
What's the point of slowing down then speeding up (to 150mph) just to stop "Mr Patel" from overtaking you?? The roads are dangerous enough without people driving like that.
That speaks volumes.

depends on what market the mirror is homologated for?
Rough guess, UK market, mirror will be certified for legal road speeds, therfore up to 70 mph will be silent, over and above that well your in a grey area, however *Cough* testing to speeds in excess of that will happen, either on a track, or on a private stretch of road *cough*
all our cars are tested to 160kmh before final checks take place
