Steam cleaning is generally best but you need to be careful with the electrics. I had my previous car done at the local council depot for about a tenner. May be worth having a look in yellow pages and then getting it done when you can drive it. Gunk, Jizer or any of the other proprietry cleaners make a right mess (especially the drive) as I found out when I cleaned and degreased the engine for my Kit-car.

Sounds mad but if you r not using the car for a while then I found using neat petrol with a brush, obviously u gotta be careful and make sure its completely dried before start up ( PRETTY OBVIOUS )
but it really does work, its better than using cleaners as petrol evaporates fairly quickly.
No im not an arsonist.

Rub some neat detergent on first, before you wet it,if you put water on first it's a nightmare Get an old paint brush for those hard to reach spots.Try not to let the detergent dry if you can, if ends up being as hard to get off as the original stain
WD40 or similar is great for the plastics and rubbers ooer! Be carefull not to get it on the belts though, mind you don'y get water in the air filter box too.
You might want to think about reapplying some cavity wax too
Bob
PS the floor under where the car is parked will get mucky
