....when you have:

1) No idea who it's from
2) No idea of it's content
3) No idea of the dangers of virus'

I have had in excess of 30 emails from many people on this BBS containing virus's in the past two days. Can we be a little more vigilant please?

Cheers

Cem

worse is a virus I've been getting with a title of RE:. You don't even have to open the attachment to get a virus warning in Norton, so I just delete any 40k emails with title RE:

Ditto what Cem said, it's getting really tedious having to delete them all now.

Yep,

Received a dozen or so email's today with the W32.Badtrans.B@mm virus.
Do not know any of the senders, must be in their address book for some reason.

Luckily, I use the scoobynet web mail client and I think (hope, Simon) that it's picking them up

No one should have received any dodgy e-mails from me!

I'm one of the IT bods .... so here's a little golden advice.

a) Get your virus checker up todate. If you've got no checking, then get some.

b) Turn off the 'preview pane' in all types of Outlook.

c) As BlowDog said ... DON'T OPEN ATTACHMENTS ... unless your expecting them.

d) Some of these f*ckers will damage your system even without opening the attachement, so take heed of 'a)' and 'b)'

In outlook:

view - layout - then untick the preview pane box

BOB

I have received hundreds of emails from scoobynet users in the past few days for the free phone logo's and NOT had any with a virus-I THINK!
