One of my Subaru's doesn't have a sunroof either..

No factory option..so what?
i had mine DELIVERED with a sunroof as an option. (& tint windows)
Why?
Because before they deliver it to me or any customer they truck the car to the Sunroof guy, who also does window tinting and he does the lot for you.
It then is trucked back to the dealer and presented happily to you the customer.
WHATS THE PROBLEM??
Every town has a sunroof guy.
I had a beautiful Hollandia TVS sunroof put in my01..Its from Holland and is the best sunroof u can get..check it out..must be on the web somewhere...
And if they deliver it to u the dealer then looks after the warranty as per the rest of the car.

Just bought an MY00, and I had a Hollandia TVS fitted in preference to the factory one. It's superb, nice tinted glass with a sliding cover. Very quiet in operation and when fully open (the glass slides under the roof).

I don't really see the point of hacking a hole in the roof then having it full of metal most of the time. It's nice having light coming through all year round. Handy for keeping an eye on choppers too

No offence to Israelis but how dumb do u have to be.
The Hollandia is actually better than any factory could do and its a ripper of a sunroof.
Gr8 way of airing out the car as well..
Bring on summer down under!!!

maybe 'cause we don't get this type of sunroof here in Israel,
and the only serious guy installing sunroofs in Israel isn't doing a good job,
acctually he managed to wreck on Impreza I know!
England: 50 million people or more,
Israel: 6 million
England: 3000 Imprezas a year (I think)
Israel: the best year so far 100!
we are way smaller than England, we are not part of the EU, and so we don't get all the brands you guys do,
but we have summer most of the year!!!

Just noticed you are from Australia,
btu you still get my point,
I don't like people messing with my car after it got out of the factory.
I still think Subaru is going two steps forward (handling, interior) but for what ever reason (beyond me), three steps back (styling, performance and options list).
I can't beleive I waited 3 years for that!

Personnally I can't stand the sun in my eyes when I'm trying to drive along (they always cut the forward lip to far forward and you get blinded by the sun - maybe a height thing?), so I'm glad I have not got a sunroof and any way I have Aircon so who needs a sunroof anyway? unless you need something for your passengers to stand out of.

Sunroof...
I was really nervous as the guy had done heaps of roofs but never a MY01 Impreza as the car had only been released a few days earlier. So I had no choice but to be the guinea pig for the experiment. Apparently they have a standard piece of cutting equipment which they line up after removing the lining of the interior roof and then cut away..
Sounds great huh?
Anyway, mine turned out fantastic with no rattles or any faults..
I hope you have some luck finding a roof guy. It isn't a convertible but it sure makes good summer days or balmy nights that much better with the sunroof.

I forgot to mention the comments u made regarding styling and options.
Maybe you need to have good look at it in the metal but I really like the look of the new car.
I'm sick of rectangular headlights and it seems that the round lights r causing the bulk of the styling objections. Every car (most)has rectangular lights and a change naturally takes a little getting used to.
Every one of my mates & work collegeus (spelling) who has seen the car thinks it looks gr8 and believe me..if they didn't like it they would tell me. Thats a positive for the styling....again its still a personal thing.
Options,,there r none.
I got mats, a roof and tint glass..
there isnt anything else coz its got everything.

I love it and believe me..
After a few weeks...you line up the 2 cars MY01 vs MY00 and the MY00 may be slightly quicker but you WILL see just how dated the superseded model actually is.
Sad fact of life but we must move on to MY01.
Cant wait till UK gets its hands on the wrx..then you will rethink all the bad stuff you have thought about it.

I live in Tel aviv,
beleive me I want to like the car,
and every test I read I get more depressed,
The styling is growing on me, but still I would like to have a different spoiler, and better performance (I own a GT)
here in Israel we won't get cruise control or 6 disc cd changer,
so you see I'm in a dilema, I want to like but Subaru is making it hard for me,
1st the styling then the performance and now no sunroof!
What are they trying to do keep Subaru loyalists like me away?
even if you can get a descent sunroof as an aftermarket,
why not provide as an option and get it over with?

A country like Israel should have all that for you and more. That would really **** me off. Its not as though you live in Ethiopia or some 3rd world country.. That sunroof situation sucks...
Drive one..they are still very fast..
Just gotta work on the sunroof.
