might be buying scoob, need some info
Hi folks, I have a 2000 (w) reg Accord type R at the moment and have had it for about 2 and half years, this is standard and has 212BHP, ive had a few races with standard scoobs and they are about the same performance, I get anything between 27 and 34 miles per gallon on normal and sport driving, my ins is £325 fully comp.I am 35 with full no claims, my next door neighbour is emigrating and he has a 52 plate WRX, very nice light metallic blue(I think it is called wr blue or sonic blue) not sure. He is about late 50s and is an ex cop , he has had it since new so I know it has had a good life, mileage is 53000 and in good condition.
I was wondering what you guys think this is worth and what kind of MPG you get, also how much is your ins.
All info would be very much appretiated.
Many thanks

Dont ask the mpg question cos you will never buy one
mines a 52 plate slightly modded and i get about 25 mpg from V power can sometimes squeeze a bit more but thats about the average for me
Check autotrader for a rough valuation however if you know the cars history that always a bonus but dont think just cos the guy used to be a copper he has always stuck to the speed limit

Hi welcome to Scoobynet. I've also got a 52 plate WRX in standard engine form and had it from new. MPG I can never be bothered to work it out but I can get approx 220-320 miles to a tank (dependant on driving style). Insurance costs if its standard will be about £380-£500 fully comp depending on postcode and your driving record. Value I suppose would be about £6500-£7500 if he was to trade it in, but £8000ish private sale as a very rough guide.
Hope this helps.
Wolfie.
p.s. Its World Rally Blue .

99% of my driving is A to B commuting and with this typre of travelling I usually get around 26mpg in Summer and it drops to 24mpg in Winter.
On a long run with steady cruising it's possible to get 30mpg.
Insurance around £650 to £700 from memory.
All this on 2004 WRX standard other than Prodrive springs (an essential addition!)
Hope this helps

I would go for it! Insurance costs me and the wife £620 PA. MPG is crap! Very expensive in terms of fuel, I have prodrive on mine so I also need to put in high octane fuel.
Fun wise - I love my WRX-PPP!
GO FOR IT!
