Ugly, slow, and the insurance is cheap.

No uglier than any other scoob wagon. 13.7 seconds to 60 and 109mph does qualify as slow. Group 9 insurance is a lot cheaper than most scoobs (G19/20 on WRX/STi), but you can get noticably cheaper to insure cars with the same performance

As a JDM car the insurance is expensive for what you get. The engine (97PS 16v) is a lot more lively than the older 1600cc and 1800cc variants though. GF1s are 2WD and GF2s are AWD.

My dad's just bought one. Has always wanted a scooby but now doesnt need a nutter turbo!. Its a cracking car and good value when you consider its less than half the price of my STi (and yes i know you cant compare them!). He traded in a Fabia VRS for it and despite the loss i performance is chuffed with it. Its a nice alterative to a focus/astra etc..........

The 1.5 is listed on the Subaru UK website as an 07 model (wagon only IIRC), so I'd assume is now going to be listed on UK insurance databases - that's where I got my Group 9 info from.

They are selling like hot cakes! £12,495 is only 500 more than lower powered focus and has AWD, automatic air con, alloys etc as standard. We are seeing a whole new type of customer walk through the doors because of it. Oh and they are 103 bhp on uk fuel, yes they are not going to set anyones world on fire but they were never meant to.
