Newbie looking for bugeye info
Hey, Just signed up.
Been searching for info on the bugeye (Version 7 i believe). Found some posts about them on here which i still have more to read..... but if anyone has any external links with good info? Probley after an STi if its in budget
Im intrested in performance stats and technical info... (and so not interested in its 'looks', @ the ugly comments)
Whats the tuning potental of them compared to the classics?
Cheers for any info
Currently own a Calibra Turbo btw

I've got a bugeye wrx that's been decatted and mapped and is now running 282/282 and is good to drive, particularly with Eibach springs.
I've spent quite a bit getting it to where it is now and to be honest, with the benefit of hindsight, should've bought an STi - although at the time my budget didn't stretch that far so it wasn't really an option.
If I was doing it all over again today, I'd scrape up enough money for a blobeye JDM STi.

i've got an MY02 STI TYPE UK.
Fab car. Had it dynoed a few times and the best I got was 409
Mind you, I have changed the turbo/injectors/headers/exhaust etc etc etc.... you know the score...
Still it MOT Friendly (sports cat) is a daily driver (have done 82k in it), and still can easily get 300+ miles per tank.
Oh, and its reliable

marklemac, sounds like you have a nice car, fair play for that amount of power and you use it everyday... and its relaible. Any more specs on your car?
Are there any specifc insurers for scoobys that are a bit cheeper than the norm?

These brokers are best for modded cars. You can also try the bigger direct insurers if your car is std.

I'm with Keith Michaels. All mods declared.
Plus Keith Michaels cover your mods like for like.
A-Plan will insure you with mods, but dont' do like for like.

300 miles per tank!!
I got 250 last week and was well chuffed!!!
Elephant were ok for insurance last year but went to A-Plan this year, (phoned the Thatcham branch directly), by far the best value at £800 with 1 year NCD and 0 points.
