Instead of PartCo, there is a company in Addlestone, Surrey which provides OEM standard parts for a fraction of the price...
I got some discs for my last Scoob (after 2 lots warped and it then went out of warranty and not a track day in sight!) and I remember thinking exactly the same thing!

well, i can see what your incinuating, but to be honest, i dont think the pads that come from subaru are that different in compound to the unipart ones, redstuff etc maybe, but standard subaru ones, na, im not convinced, i dont think subaru have a "special" part of the factory that makes pads just for them !

feel free to show me otherwise tho !

Just took a look, they quote price each, so its still £100+ for front/rear but yeah, still cheaper than dealer, but not cheapest

been there with pads from a motor factors and performance pads and main dealer pads and to be honest the main dealers were better, the motor factors had no bite at all not to mention no squeal shims and the performance had bite but were as noisy as hell and the main dealer stuff was quiet with good bite so now i only use main dealer stuff.

i dont understand your misconception, for a pattern part or oem supplier to make parts, they must meet/ exceed legal requirements. just because a brake pad is marked girling or amp dosent mean one will stop you and one wont. Both by law have to meet defined standards., so either onw will work.

Agreed, the bigger oem may spend more money on research, or have more exotic compounds, but thats about all. no oem is going to claim his/her pad will out stop another, incase it dosent and they get sued.

Incedentally, many of the big manufacturers, make the same parts for the pattern suppliers and the oem, the only differance being that one will have an oem part number and logo on it the other wont. If you want to pay 99% profit to an oem for a standard part, then its your choice, but ask yourself where does the oem get his parts from? from smaller suppliers, who also supply other companys. so all you are doing is paying over the odds
