WR Sport = Prodrove = authorised by Subaru.

Accessories can be purchased at Main Dealers.

Does that mean the extras were put on by Prodrive ? or by a subaru dealer ?

Are they decent enough cars ?

I had a non-WR RB5 and the main noticeable difference was the large rear wing (worth a small fortune) and the uprated ecu (which gave 240bhp as opposed to the standard 215ishBHP). In addition, there was a different exhaust, air filter and intercooler piping. The suspension package was extra.

There's lots of RB5's out there that claim they're WR's when they're not - check the clocks on the dashboard (as it states WR) and if you get to see it before bidding on it, you can check via the ecu in the passenger footwell.

Failing that, duck over to www.rb5oc.co.uk and someone there (Norm) will check for you.

They were done in a limited run of 444 by the way (without the numbers 13).

Just seen the eBay ad and and checked it against the registry - number 182 is a WR sport (so the owner must have sold the rear spoiler and probably got about £500 for it!)

As you can tell i dont know much about these rare cars but how much do you think it would be worth ?

Think the guy claims it has 305 bhp but I'm gonna give him a call regarding it.

Do you think it will go for as much as £5k ?

thanks

I know that does put me off a bit but it does have full scoob service history.

Anyone know roughly how much its worth ?

Mine had 80K when I sold it some 3 months ago, and it had a full engine rebuild at 65K. It had a few extras (defi guages, decat exhaust and uprated ecu which gave it 286bhp) and I let it go for £7,700.

As a former RB5 owner, I'd highly recommend them, but I would look something for slightly lower mileage. The one on eBay (with 145K miles) I would say is worth £5K at a push - the fact that it's not got the WR spoiler is questionable (i.e. possible rear end damage?).

If you're looking for a SPOTLESS RB5, check the For Sale section - PhilA has his up for sale and whilst he's got high miles (just over 113K miles), it's had a full rebuild and is in wonderful condition. Failing that, keep any eye on the rb5oc website.

https://www.scoobynet.com/my-rb5-sale-t543272.html

Good luck mate!!

It's on a 98 reg that is the spoiler that prodrive put on the wr sport cars, normal tubo's came with the low level one. It was only on the 99 reg that prodrive started to put the prodrive high wing on ie what you see on the wr sport RB5's. If that car has got the complete prodrive pack like it says, driving enhancement package, interior package, exterior package, performance package the bill comes to £9388.25 inc vat on top of the price of the car. Believe me this car is very rare with all the prodrive packs on just a shame about the miles and yes everything was done at prodrive banbury

That ones a nice car but AFAIK The one he is looking at on ebay is not an RB5 - its a uk turbo with various prodrive wr sport mods.

Between 97-00 there were 25 WR Sports made each year, making them just about the rarest Scoob you can buy. They were based on UK Turbo's and sent directly to Prodrive for the fitting of all the options. IIRC there were 4 levels of spec available which included Performance (£1968), Styling (£2467), Interior (£2820) and Handling (£3231). A car loaded with all 3 like my mate Al's old one was IRO £30k new.

From memory, so I may be wrong, but I believe power went up from 208 to 240, they got the rear wing, corner spats, Prodrive Recaro's, mats, white WRS logo'd dials plus some guages, 17" Speedlines and colour coded skirts and mirrors (not door handles) amongst other stuff.

Thats right as Corradoboy says.

What I was trying to get across was that it appears that its a much rarer car than an RB5. (which could have a WRSport upgrade option fitted but not the same as above AFAIK)

Prodrive WR Sport
Take the standard Impreza Turbo from new and add the full Prodrive interior treatment, suspension package, body kit, wheels with exclusive WR interior and exterior badging (engine upgrade not compulsory) and an official World Rally Sport limited edition of the Impreza Turbo is yours (for £30,000).

From SIDC.

My WR Sport also has white dials, carbon finish interior, Recaro & Prodrive Logos on seats, quick shift, Alcon 4 pots with 330mm disks, Prodrive mats, I also believe that some cars had electric seats and where given a number plaque, but Iam not sure if this is true. I am also lead to believe that the car had to get most of the upgrades to get the rare WR Sport name.

Cheers for that, the one on the auction sounds the same at yours then.

Any idea how much I should be paying fior it ?

Cheers

No probs - we all do sometimes !!

Just wanted to make sure the guy knew exactly what the car genuinely appears to be.

If it goes for too much for him the RB5 on here would be a nice car.

Its gonna be hard to give a price: on the one hand its very rare but on the other its not exactly mint and its done lots of miles.

I personally think if you got it for £5000 it would be a good deal. Then spend a bit minting it up.

Hopefully someone else will give an opinion.

Default WR Sport

I need to spend some money on my WR Sport. Prodrive want £450 + VAT for rear Bilstein/Eibach suspension kit!!!

Seeing as I'm sprinting through fuel with the Scoob, where can I save money on these used parts?

cheers
