I mean when you choose 'disconnect device' from the menu at the top the TomTom seems to reboot itself and goes straight to the screen where you choose your language etc. I dont loose data eg speed cameras etc.... Just find it a pain in the backside as i have to set up langusages and reconnect phone etc.....

I would say it is a fault as mine doesn't do this

Might be worth contacting TomTom or taking it back to where you got it from and asking them sorry I can't be of more help

I have the 910 and it does this. Its a known fault with the tom tom and i took my first unit back until i found the reset button. It only does it when you disconnect fom the computer. Most of the info I found said the 910 doesnt have a reset button but its does its just hidden away.

Hope this helps

i no longer connect it to the computer now i have installed speed cams. Not sure how to explain it any better really, first unit locked totally and as i didnt know there was a reset button i took it back to the shop. When the second unit locked i found out about the reset button and that sorted it out on that occasion only. Subsequent connections meant subsequent lock ups, each one fixed with reset. It is a know problem with these units.

Just bought a 910. Not sure if anyone else has gone from a Go / 300 / 500 / 700 to the new generation, but it takes a hell of a long time to boot up each time its turned on!

Download the Home application from TomTom support and it will allow you to update the sofware as this is a known fault.

(think you can download the update on its own aswell probably but the site is geared towards getting you to download Home to do it.
