they said a rolling road tune is harmful to the drive train - is this true?? how else would you get power figures etc

Unless the car is running badly there is no point doing a "tune" after switching AFAK

Is the car modded ?
If not, again, I personally wouldnt bother with one - just let the car idle for a while if you have really been giving it stick.
At the end of the day Subaru didnt see the need for one as std .

As above, you don't need a TT. Warm the car before booting it (5 minutes on drive and/or first 10-15 minutes driving mostly under boost). Cool it after any spirited running by driving the last 5 miles or so under boost and leave at idle for another minute or two when you pull up.
no - standard apart from the exhaust
trouble is i've just bought it a couple of weeks ago and been browsing like you do - bought a filter - just planning the twin turbo conversion LOL!
i'll probably leave it then.
