I was left wondering about Skyline's yesterday.
After picking up my eldest child, and having the youngest already in the back i pulled up behind an R33. As expected he shot off in a cloud of black smoke, but although it sounded like he was almost red-lining it didn't actually look that quick. I think he was a little disapointed i was Mr.Sensible. Oh well another day i suppose

maybe maybe not, comparing a classic wrx with a r34 on a track day i went on at oulton park the r34 was quicker, and that had 400, and the wrx was about 300.
the roads wern't mega twist, but the wrx over took on a straight? and if you look at the very start the skyline leaves the wrx standing

But the weight is a big thing for the R33's, I had a GTR that had an exhaust only and it was a slow car, you need at least 500BHP to make them very fast, and they drink alot of fuel std or not

Subaru WRX vs Skyline GT-R33
During the Japshow (santa pod) I was chatting to a fella who had a tuned Skyline R33 with 530bhp. This car was running the exactly the same quarter mile time as a classic Sti impreza running 350bhp. Both cars were running 12.6 seconds quarters the only difference being skyline had a better terminal speed due to the Impreza having the better start over 60 foot. I beleve the owner of the Skyline had spent nearly 10 grand compared to say 2 grand on the Impreza . I must say I like the Skyline and the noise they make especially, but why make it so bloody heavy as they apparently don't handle that great standard either as they are prone to understeer. So I would keep my RA over a Skyline!.
