hello m8 and welcome.

a scooby will empty your bank no probs. lol

if looked after proply and serviced regulor they will give you no probs at all. try to get one thats had no mods so you can do the mods you want. just like the one you posted. it looks like a clean car but pictures can hide a lot of things. an import will need octane boost. so ask the owner what fuel they run it on. if they say normal petrol then run away all imports should be run on 100 ron the closest we have got at the mo is opitmax 98 ron. unless your lucky and they stock the new stuff .

As long as you can look before you buy (i think it does say that) check what the warranty covers as well (engine, turbo, gearbox ,etc).
Looks standard which i personally think is better than buying modified.
Take someone who knows cars mechanically and possibly subarus quite well.

Cheap mods are decat (doesn't need one for the mot) then a full exhaust system, uprate the filter (opinions are divided on scoobynet between better panel filter or induction kit, the ik will lead to higher intake temps).
Z4 ecu from a later model will bring the power upto 260ps.
My 93 wrx runs approx 250bhp with an ik ,decat and backbox.

warrenty covers all usual plus turbo, im sure it will be full of get out clauses but it makes me feel more confident. my biggest concern is buying a 13 year old car, any comments or experiences?

i run mine on 98(optimax) or 99(tescos) and have had no problems (i don't rag it everywhere) if the owner has run it on 95 don't bother with it.

Only problem i've had is sensors going wrong (water temp is common causes dodgy idle but is cheap and easy to replace).
Make sure they change the cambelt and change the oil minimum and check the spark plugs ( its worth paying for them to be changed they can check the coil packs at the same time cos they are expensive to replace)

they is a guy on here (i think his tag is briforbes)who says 100 octane wasn't out when the early wrxs' were made but I don't know where he got the info from.
I've run mine on 98/99 without octane booster and i've never had a problem in the 3 years i've owned my car.
If you fill the fill the tank with optimax then disconnect the battery so the ecu capacitors drain (about an hour or so) then reconnect it then go for a drive (normal town, motorway speeds legal) then the ecu will 'learn' the new settings.
You could do an google search for impreza ecu reset

if you buy it or any import the car needs to be undersealed as the Japnese don't do it because they don't stick salt or other crap on their roads.
Also the brakes on the early cars are utter ****e( only 2 pot calipers later models 4 pot calipers)

Looks ok, but for an extra £500 I would go for something like this:

https://www.scoobynet.com/excellent-...5-t527295.html

20 more bhp, miles better seats etc.

Plus some history of over here, and Jap history which is pretty rare.

Hi.

I assume this was one of ours - it's now sold but we have another few coming in over the next couple of weeks. Most to satisfy pre-orders but there should be a couple of nice saloons to view.

We underseal here and good fuel is certainly essential.

Regards.

Daryl.
