With regards to FMIC it looks okay, you pays your money and you get what you pay for.

What a load of krap you post Tony. There is nothing wrong with the quality of Hybrid intercoolers, either for Classic or New Age.
Have you owned one ?
Have you fitted one?
Specifically what is wrong in quality terms with the Hybrid FMIC?
I know of several Classic installations with Hybrid FMICs, well over 400 bhp, I know of one New Age around 380 bhp and another that is likely to be well over 400bhp.
I run both an APS FMIC and a Hybrid FMIC on two separate Classics. I have gone to the trouble of installing ambient and throttlebody temperature guages on both.
There is no appreciable performance difference, in fact the Hybrid may outperform the APS.
This is first hand experience from someone who has both, has sold over 400 Hybrid kits and fitted upwards of thirty.

LOL... impartial opinion from somebody who sells Hybrids then. Personally comparing the fit of say a HKS kit to Hybrid then i'd say the HKS fits far better (from personal experience of them and from experience of others who have fitted Hybrids and other kits.... not just Subaru's either).
I'm not saying the performace isn't up there, it is no doubt but the fit is not as good. Period. I've seen some Hybrids fitted that require the pipe from the thottle body to be cut and a silicon tube (Pics of Alan Bells classic are on 22B now showing this exact thing). The chrome starts peeling off the pipes too which i've personally seen etc.
That's my personal opinion having seen these first hand, if you don't like it i couldn't give a t0$$.
Tony.

I think I fitted Alan Bell's Hybrid on the Peppermint Scoob. Cutting the pipe by the washer bottle is a trick I learned early on but it is not essential but leads to a lower and neater fit.
If Hybrid's were crap then not so many people would rave about them.
If Hybrid's were crap I would have nothing to do with them.
This is what you said :
This is what you are saying now :
As regards the fit, it is no big deal. Some people are better at fitting than others but there are lots of guys on here who would not mind an extra hour or two of effort to make substantial cash savings.
When we brought the Hybrid's to the UK and Europe initially it was to compete against £1200 APS, HKS, Hyperflow etc. No matter how well you think the HKS fits it does not warrant several hundred pounds more and I am not sure the HKS performs as well as the APS from actual testing again.
I know you don't give a toss but don't mislead people on here with your prejudices.

I'd agree with you get what you pay for, these should be in the same league tho as other cheap eastern offerings such as Hybrid. The D2 ones seem pouplar with the GTi-R boys, not sure if that's a good thing or not tho
Tony.

Just seen your other post.
Like I said some people are better at fitting than others. Most people I have fitted for have commented on how neat it is and I give every assistance to any body that asks. I also provide a material list and fitting instructions with every kit I despatch. These are instructions provided by me.

I looked at that thread Tony. One owner who fitted his own said he had a problem with the pipe to the throttle body. Two pundits also made comment.
These have been sold here for at least 4 years and there are dozens, possibly even hundreds of Hybrid FMIC owners on this forum and if the quality was crap we would have heard all about it long before your little outburst.

Funnily enough my brother has hairs on the palm of his right hand.
Great fun going in to a pub and paying for a round of drinks and opening his hand with a load of coins. The reaction can be great fun.
Even although he is a PE instructor he can read (and write too).
As a result of an unfortunate accident when we though he would lose his hand it had to be sewn on to his tummy first and then his buttock for a skin graft, hence the hairs.
