car park worries

car park worries
I honestly thought i would drive the scooby to the train station every day and back , but i just scouted out the car park and it sucks
the lines r too close. the lights (half are not working)
It says CCTV patrolled but i only see 1 camera which is facing the other way from the cars!!!!
So i stopped to ask the local taxi drivers and they said I should stay away from the back car park as cars always get broken into
The other car park is tiny and the lines r too close
So i have come home thinking ill have to leave the scooby at home
After all the drive to the station and back is only 10 miles in total each day. 40 a week -- its just not worth the risk right??

Know how you feel mate. I always watch where I park to avoid getting damage from other peoples doors etc. As for security I try to park underneath lights or where the car is noticeable to everyone and not hidden. Unfortunately this is the downside to owning a Scooby which is also your pride and joy.

I dont think i am sad. I just spent 30K on the car, and id rather not have someone slam their car door into it. Within the last 2 months someone smashed in my front windscreen of my old car (completely smashed to pieces).
Ive also had another car where the side window was smashed in and they had tried to set fire to the car, seat was all burnt.
I have also actually been sitting in my old Renault 5 Gt Turbo, and some guy just slammed his car door into it (while i was in it) - so you can imagine what some people who dont really care would do if you were not in the car
When i was scoping out the car park -- its like flies on sh*T really and honestly I found every next man wants to start chatting to you and checking the car out. Again you can imagine the attraction its gonna get during the day. Im normally parked in a car park daily for over 14 hours and sometimes i return from the City at 2am in the morning. So id rather not have a scenario where the car park company tell me their cameras arent working and so on.
So with all my burdens on my mind - i'm leaving at home and using for leisure purposes/and long distances only
My mate has an Evo and parks it outside his work window so he can keep an eye on it all day - unfortunately some of us dont have that luxury!!
yes it true you can park between a Porsche and a Lexus or some scenario like that (they are unlikely to screw you over) but its the people that dont car who drive a car worth a few grand that will end up shafting your Subarus backside
Last example =------ i was in a train station car park on saturday and a car reversed at about 30mph straight into the Subaru i was in (was with a dealer) and he made a massive dent in its side.

when i go shopping to asda i always park in two spots, regardless of how busy it is. very selfish, but my cars more important than someone elses weekly shop space.

im just going to use my old car to get to the train station and back
not worth leaving the scoob in train station car park
by the way
A police car with wailing blue light came past me yesterday - but instead of going to the emergency he slammed his brakes on just to look at the scoob. Thats pretty pathetic rozzer - why did u have your sirens flashing then!
I do park over 2 spaces in pc world or anywhere like that -- cant do that in tesco though

Hi Bil,
I hear you loud and clear. I park my Impreza in the local town car park to this date not had any issues. Unless you're in a town centre there must be other places to park ie: Quiet residential roads?
Have a look about there must be an alternative solution even if it means an added 10 minute walk.

yeah i never park my car where i think it may be broken into, unfortunally you cant watch your car 24/7 and where ever you leave it there is gong to be a risk! Lucky for me though, my work car park is only outside the office and can see though the window and is parked inbeteen Porsches/BMW's etc who look after their cars just as much but when i am in town i always park in secure car parks etc !

I would't like to park my car near the ralway lines even if the car park was 100% secure, the brake dust from the trains can be pretty hard on cars parked for long periods
