Bumper remodelling for FREE!!
I was involved in a 5 car RTA on the M20 last night!
I was the innocent front car- but look at my back side!!
Gone to the assessors today[]
under the carpet in the boot you can see all the crumpled metal around the spare wheel- car's about an inch shorter!
Hopefully i'm just fearing the worst and it's a simple repair and not a writeoff.
Fingers crossed!
Note to foreign van drivers- your van will not stop in the pouring rain from 50 mph down a slip road before it hits another van that hits a citreon
that hits a mercedes that ploughs into my
pride and f***ing joy in the middle of a major motorway in rush hour. Pillock.

Tough that mate...
A Lot of people thinking they are invincible out there in the rain this week.... they think they can stop in the same distance as when it's dry

When the assessors been, pop the bumper out from behind - it won't look so bad if you're still driving it around. Same thing happened to me but i couldn't stand going around with the dent whilst waiting for the repair. you'd be surprised how it reforms....

I had much worse rear damage on a 2k escort, boot floor crumpled etc, it was repaired through the insurance TELL the assesor you really dont want it written off, this does make a difference.

If it were me, i would prefer it to be writen off, I don't like rear panel changes at all. It will never be the same, and you can be sure they will do a cheap panel beating job on the boot floor

My Hyundai Coupe was 6 months old and suffered worse damage than yours after a rear end shunt on one corner.
Rear wing was creased like hell (a big panel on a Coupe) and the boot floor was creased and rippled.
The car was a real mess but was repaired and not written off.
After 2 weeks worth of repair the boot shut lines were awful, and boot floor though repaired looked abit of a patchwork. The back of the car and rear lights did'nt look straight and equal. The rear wing did'nt quite look right and I wished they'd written the car off tbh.
I rejected accepting the the car back twice as the paint match was bad and they had sprayed the car without removing the window seals. I refused to hand back the courtesy car until the repairs were carried out to my satisfaction. My insurance company Direct Line were very good with about it and supported my stance.
I sold the car 2 months later as I could'nt live with it anymore tho.
I doubt your car will be written off, but when you get it back repaired, spend as much time as you need at the repair centre inspecting the car and satisfying yourself that its right. You payed alot of money for you car and a sh1te load on insurance, so make sure you get it back perfect.
