No, they say "Police" on the side (because it's the police that do ANPR, not the DVLA) and they always have patrol cars/bikes further ahead ready to stop vehicles.

So you don't mind those drivers driving around in:

Stolen cars (maybe YOURS one day?)
untaxed vehicles.... which usually mean uninsured and untested
vehicles linked to other crimes
or vehicles linked to "real criminals" ....

Whatever

Come on Burr! You are completely taking 84's post out of context. I am sure NO-ONE would object to action being taken against the perpetrators of your aforementioned misdemeanours. However when motorists are targeted as easy pickings for driving five miles over the limit then people have a right to take exception. Incidentally I was on the A64 (Elvington and back) and did not see any police whatsoever, lively drive there in a convoy of about twenty Imprezas.

IMO the camera`s are only another source of income for the government , im surprised they havent changed the points system yet to something like 1 speeding offence = 1 point and a 60 quid fine , that way they would get ALOT more revenue from a motorist before he/she was lost there license
