Default Is 130,000 + asking for trouble ?

UK or import, is that kind of mileage asking for it, i mean, the engine may have all fsh etc but say the headgasket hasnt been done at all in that time etc, is it a safe bet it will need doing soon, being a turbo and having these miles cant be good can it ?

i have seen vectras with this mileage on etc with alot of engine troubles even being serviced at usual times, 2 different cars i know, but impreza having a turbo makes me feel its more likely to need a full engine overhaul at this mileage soon, or am i way off ???

opinions..........

130,000km or Miles?

The Impreza engine is pretty damn reliable its just down to how its been treated.

130,000km is nothing.. 130,000miles is getting on a bit but a well maintained engine that hasnt been driven by Colin McCrazy will be fine.

130,000 miles is nothing to a Subaru ... Turbo or not.

The number 1 deciding factor on engine life is how it has been serviced, treated and driven.

Chavviie Mods. + Chavvie Driving + Chavvie Ownership = Knackered Engines.

Just read the posts, "I have modified my car to get it to 500BHP and drove it along the A34 last night at 160MPH for 3 hours and the crappy pile of ****e broke!" Bloody useless cars these!! ...........................

Bad Owners and Clapped Out Cars go together, always have done, always will.

As long as it is well and regularly serviced, correct oils used, given time to warm up before going on boost and driven off boost for a couple of miles before switching off it should give thousands of miles more reliable service.

If it Km's then no worries mate.

Divide the km's in two add a bit and you've got miles

Get yourself to Scooby shootout see the abuse some Imprezas get, and then decide if you want to buy something second hand with a big mileage and many owners (more chance of at least one owner treating it badly).
