Default BMW 330CI

had one try it on with me the other day. All of a sudden saw him hanging off my rear O/S wing going hard round a corner in 2nd. Decided, what the hell and floored it out of the corner and opened up a car length or so, then fumbled 3rd gear change and had to try again waiting for the revs to drop first (lost about 1,5 sec)...bugger ! he was then back to about a car length off me but I had full blow in 3rd now and the gap opened up again. into 4th and he was about 3 or 4 car lengths behind. Decided to back off and he then went by. Wish I hadn't fummbled 3rd gear though, he was probably feeling well chuffed he wasn't as far off the pace as he would have been. Big fun though and a good addrenaline rush !

A standard WRX should see off a 3330i. ( a Honda CTR or Accord Type R is a very even match for a 330i).

You proved the WRX was able to open up a gap and had the sense not to push too hard, you have the faster more agile car.

Lovely car the 330i very well made, pitty the drivers are generally not very nice people.

I had a Civic Type R when my mate had a 330Ci, in a straight line there wasn't much in it.My WRX MY03 with PPP would leave a 330 standing.

To be honest a boggo standard new age WRX should be a match but wont blast one out of the water - A 330ci will be pretty quick when up to speed and will top 155mph!!!! but any modified Scoob should easily see a 330ci off on acceleration anyway!

It wasn't from a standing start, so I was unsure of the "in gear" speeds as a good torque N/A 3 ltr BMW was an unknown quantity. Main loss to me was a really bad fumbled gear change to 3rd, just glad I had the extra power to pull it off and still make ground on him.

So the BMW wanted to pass but you made him wait an extra 60 secs to prove a point?

Did he flash his payslip as he went by to prove one back?

My boss has one - nice smooth car and sounds great

But when he took me for a blast in it I couldn't help thinking that my modded vRS felt a lot quicker

Had a great drive through some twisties in the rain one day - it was on the way to a Scoob meet and the group of Scoobs were joined by a BMW330CI.

It was really strange though as the Scoob was on home turf - wet and twisty - they could not shake off the BMW 330CI. Much better handling than any of the Scoobs thought, a little sideways action but well controlled by the traction control.

But shock, horror the BMW kept up in real world conditions - it was the talk of lunch

Forgot to add - most of the Scoob drivers thought the BMW driver must be a **** as he was driving his car well enough to keep up - so he must have had something to prove like a typical BMW ***. Not that any of the Scoob drivers trying it one would be **** of course they are merely enjoying their moderately fast cars.
