Default BLITZ SUPER SOUND DV & EXHAUST POPPING

Just installed a Blitz super sound dv to MY00 and now, the exhaust ocassionally pops.
Is that ok?
Will it do any harm to the car?

Also the revs fluctuate slightly (car doesn't cut out) but then goes normal. Only happens sometimes.
Does anyone know what could cause this?

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks

NOT 100% technical but from reading around, its something to do with:

ecu sets fuel\air mixture
air gets dumped out into the air by your dump valve and ecu doesnt know
now theres too much fuel
excess fuel hits exhaust system and ignites = pop

Good: sound
Bad: possible 'lumpy' idle. possibility engine gos bye bye a long time from now due to thinning oil or some such... and people on here call you a chav!

I have a MY00 and am tempted with a DV, but after having an engine go pop on me before (my last car.. not a subaru) ANYTHING that 'might' cause actual damage to the engine is a big no no for me.. for now!

ROFLMBIAO.

Simple answer is no, Look after the oil and get your service done properly and you will be fine.

The car will be running very rich, which isn't a massive problem but will give you poor mpg.

The appeal of the noise will wear off in time.

ROLFMBIAOALAOLSOLSOLOSLOLS!!!!*"()*"ONE!!

Should've put more of a disclaimer than 'not technical' but the points were a summary of what i've read from wading through the BS on here :P

I think i put a post up a while back saying 'who can honestly say a VTA dump valve ****ed their car' and had no takers, just more theory\bs :P

**edit** ps keep us updated on how the car gos, i've got my eye on a HKS SSQV.. the chav is strong in me..

Generally yes, but in some cases excessively rich mixtures can lead to bore wash ( oil being washed off the bores) and hasten the demise of your engine.
