Question Impreza used as a weekend car???

Right guys,

Ive bought myself a cheap run-a-bout (place of work is a SH@T hole!) to help keep the mileage/running costs/wear and tear down on my 94STi. So now my car sits on the drive-way waiting for the weekend to come . My question is that is it ok to leave all week then start it up or should i start it up during the week and leave it ticking over until warmed up?

Mines a WRX 55 and I normally give it a bit of a blast midweek because when i left it in the garage unused for a week the battery went dead. When Subaru assistance arrived they started it with a booster and advised me to drive with side lights on. Something to do with the car not charging the battery sometimes because it don't recognise a drain. Might have worded it wrong but someone might correct me!

My car sits in the garage for weeks at a time sometimes.... no need to start them every few days.... just use it when you drive it!

I think you wont leave it too long till you're pissed off with your week day car, ditch it, and start using the scoob daily again. The fools always come back to the fold

No point me getting a weekly run about as i only work three miles from home.
God only knows what mpg i get as the car never really reaches temperature during the week, therefore always ran off boost.
Come the weekend though i can drive my car as it should be......

Agreed, I use my company Ford Focus diesel for work and everyday useage, then bring the scoob out as and when I want to. It keeps my mileage on the scoob down to around 4000 per year.

Mine is garaged for a week or 2 at a time. I use an accumate charger to maintain the battery so it always starts.

1800 miles in two years,

6 weeks since last used & another 3 weeks to go before I can get the car out of the garage.
