Looking for advise please (my 1st post)
I'm not looking for advise in the regards to what car to get i just thought there was something wrong with one i was considering getting....
This is the one i was going to go look at:
Problem is it is a "51"plate and appears an older shape, think it's a mk2?!
And yet this one... is a "y" plate and it's a newer shape,
I used to own a 1.1i Saxo and have done for 5 years now, now i have built up my no claims i'm looking for something bigger, the people on the saxo website have advised me to ask for you guys help....
I hope you can help!!!
Please someone that knows what model came out when please help!
I hope you are all friendly and approchable on this site!
Thanks!
-Richard

Dont know why they are like that m8 but i've seen other 51 plates as classics ( first pic ) IMHO i prefer the classic shape to the bug/blob eye'd impreza unless its the 53 ( i think ) plate or younger
I'd go for the classic 51 plate
Welcome to the site as well.

Thanks for the welcome and also the prompt responce, the only thing i was worried about with the "51" plate was i thought the old shape stopped around the "V" / "W" reg's

It's purely because the registration depends on when the car was registered, and not built. So the classic was built on a particular date and then 'languished' in a holding area somewhere before it was snapped up and registered. Hope that makes sense.

Whats a 2.0 GX ??? is that what they called the Sport when it changed to the bugeye ?
But would agree with post above - non Turbo Imprezas are nice cars for what they are, but you'll regret not buying a Turbo, and for the money you can get a Sport for you can probably get something better from another manufacturer.
If you are set on a Sport, the Y plate one above is uglier and heavier, so will be slower. The 51 plate looks like a nice car - wouldnt worry too much about it being on the 'wrong' plate, was probably just one they couldnt sell so was registered late.

Thankyou for all your advice, i've got to say you are all much more useful on here than they are on the saxo site!
You ask for advise on there and they just say sarcastic comments or "check the search function"
Anyway just to let you know i have put a deposit down on a "W" plate Subaru Impreza Sport, And i'm looking forward to picking it up next week.
The reason i went for the sport is i've had 5 years of driving a 1.1i Saxo (which i've built up my no claims a bit) but it would be too much of a jump i felt.
Thanks again, and as soon as i pick up the car i will put a picture up!

****-poor over priced Sports didnt sell out very well and youll see '51' registrations, youll see Mica Red Turbo wagons on a '51' too.
To confuse you more Ive seen a couple of New Age WRXs on an 'X' plate.....
