Default bonnet scoops on the mway

So how much does your newage scoop bounce up and down on the motorway? Mine seems to quite a bit. Just me or do they all do it?

And yes the bonnet is closed properly!

I kept looking when I got my 03 STI at first, I put it down to the lightweight bonnet,( Alloy ) and the drag effect of the scoop.

Yep mines too. I always feel OK but the passengers complain of feeling sick. As long as they don't spew or they will be walking home.

My scoop makes the bonnet flap about, i put it down to the sti's huge scoop as my wrx didn't do it (well, very slightly).

Also, my spoiler tends to bounce up and down in the middle when motoring.
I questioned this with the saleman when test driving and he said it was normal. Strange as i put a replica sti spoiler on my last scoob and that didn't bounce, must have been better quility than Subaru's own!

Nik.

yes, new age scoop is terrible for it.

on my P1 (ally bonnett) with the standard scoop it does it a tad. when i had a STI 8 scoop on i really did think the bonnet was going to fly open sometimes

i have had a bonnet fly open on me a few years ago when i owned an Astra and you dont have any time to react when it comes loose, so dont worry theres nowt you can do apart from check its all connected properly!

Anyone thought of bonnet pins? My mate fitted these on his Evo after his carbon bonet flew up causing 2.5K damage to the roof and windscreen.
