Default BHP Target

My hunt for a scooby continues so in the mean time trying to do a bit of research into what parts i need etc for my power goal....

would be looking to get into the mid/low12s in a STi RA...so im thinking 375/380bhp should see good? the magic 400 would be tidy as well....

some of the mods i had in mind...feel free to add in more info etc...

Turbo Back Exhaust (3" bore straight through, no silencer pref)
Air Filter
HKS SSQV
FMIC
Walbro 255ltr Fuel Pump
Electronic Boost Controller (at around 1.4bar?)
Larger Injectors (750cc?)
TD05-20g (are these ball bearing turbos? i would like a BB unit...get it spooling very ealy)
Apexi Power FC

perhaps:
headers?
up-pipe?

boost gauge as well

some suspension work & brake work im guessing will be necessary & to top that off prob a paddle/organic clutch & a lightened flywheel....

at the risk of sounding essex wouldnt mind some v3 rear lights and v5 spoiler if the car dnt have one...they do look smart

any help you can give would be great.

cheers lads

Overkill in the injectors IMHO......but they look about right for the power you want.......

May be safer and cheaper to go for the 2.5 conversion and then the 400bhp and beyond is well in your sights....

If you are using the 1/4mile as a benchmark for performance then it wouldnt need much doing to it at all.

I've seen a STi RA run mid 12s with just an exhaust.

550's standard and i'm running 650's and even though i'm not up to those fig's they work fine.....

Alloy you tit, I was implying that would be a good route to go for a safe, usuable 400......Like you know, we can tune the nuts off but there's always that worry.....

Saying that Bob will probably shoot that down

bloody el..a mid 12 with an exhaust...i swear an exhaust gives a scooby like 50bhp...(ok not literally but u get where im going :d)

i would like something near 375-400bhp i just assumed that that should get me in the low 12s but from what you've just said above perhaps even lower wch is good news.

nah you just need a bit of skill launching and changing at the right time....the RA is lighter than a UK classic yet bob managed 11.7 in his UK with a "mere" 340bhp....

if you couldnt do an 11 with a 400bhp RA then id question driver ability!!!

ive clearly underestimated what 380+bhp in a STi RA will achieve on the 1/4mile....thats put a smile on my face whilst being at work! nice one lads..let the modding commence....just need to find a half dcnt STi RA...seen so many nice ones...

Y is it that when you have the money you can never find something and when you don’t a good deal always crops up….urgh…

few months till jap show so i suppose no major rush...want to find a keeper

Its just as a guide of what it could achieve not what it will achieve. There are far more that don't achieve than those who do. It gives you an idea of what to aim for though.

Japshow is a real pain. Queues for hours to get in, hours to sign on and forever to get a couple of runs on the strip. And you miss all the action going on meanwhile.

If I go this year it will be as a spectator and nothing more. I'll save running until quieter days/events.

yeh i do agree...when i went to the july one last year it was really good...yeh i queued ages to run but it was worth it actually...if u get the runs done in the morning first thing its all good...

when i went in Oct it was the nightmare of all nightmares...waited for about 3hrs to say no more cars can go on....good thing is thou prior to that i was watching most of the races so i didnt miss many races wch was good....

whether i run or not def looking forward to going...and loads of ppl from southend (essex) all go and meet at lakeside services then toddington and every1 goes in a big group...bit of a laugh....

@BOB: u have any gearbox issues with ur scooby? i heard with a lot of bhp they can break...
