Not sure but 9.5k sounded cheap.
I see it has the usual P1 engine rebuild.....or two!
Noticed in my local rag that Jennings had one in for 17K

personally I'd shoot myself first, although I except that in it's price range, for the type of car there's not much else to beat it

A 20 stone gayboy gorilla???

That explains why something special for the weekend equates to an MX5!!

Amazing, i start a thread about a P1 and it turns into a mx5 hair dressing bashing session.
I am convinced Scoobynet is getting worse by each thread.
Why bother

Thanks for taking some interest in my thread.
Correct, must have been a cowboy rebuild.
Interesting to see what it goes for..........

Pete, for a joke of a car it still commands a high price on the forecourt.
As i say, Jennings (middlesbrough) have one in for 17k, not many cars of its age would sell for such a price.
Dont get me wrong, i wouldn't touch one for love or money but there are plenty out there that will.
I just thought the example on fleebay was or seemed cheap ?

I'm just playing with you .............. I'm a Middlesbrough lad myself

The P1 holds its money if its a GOOD one - if its cheap there is a reason for it.

P1 owners know what they have got, a good or bad one, it is then priced accordingly.

P1's tend to be bought by those who know what they are about and have done their reseach ... therefore the poor examples are touted about the trade, unloved and unwanted.

I've got an my03sti ppp and I've had the suspension "fettled" by powerstation and the p1 will still kill me, given equal driver ability.

Check the quality of the engine re-build, but if it's well done and you dont do mods that will over-stress the engine you'll have a good car

Scarey,
Im not interested in it for myself as i am more than happy with my MY03 STI UK (no mods.....except prodrive back box).
It just stood out whilst trawling through fleebay.

Pete - Agreed, however i'm not a Boro boy, Ingleby B but close enough.

Sorry matey, didn't really mean to spam your thread.

I know peeps that have had trouble selling their P1's especially ones with any modifications at all (note to all sellers - Buyers seem to be purists). In fact one of my friends ended up selling the one below for £10k to a dealer just over a year ago.

And £17K on a forecourt means nothing, unless it sells for that price.

P1's will only be bought by someone who wants a P1 over anything else (TypeR, Newage) and the price will be relative to their pocket and how far they want to travel/ how long they wish to look, as prices vary.

And Pete, I really do hope you are happy with your car, but I expect that being a Gorilla, all those conditioning products make you a bit too 'fluffy'

I was looking at this the other day when I dropped my car off for some warranty work (not starting on cold mornings ) I thought it seemed very over-priced; it didn't seem to be in exceptionally good condition and was filthy! Still a lovely looking car, but not worth anywhere near £17k IMHO.

Thats what I thought.

P1 prices vary from 9.5K up to 18K+ and even these 18K jobbies don't have all the special important things like Alcon brakes and Recaro Seats.

Personally, if your looking at a classic as a long termer I think its time to look for Ltd editions and keep them as standard as possible.

I agree ............ over the long term, the car kept as standard will always get the money.

Cars which have been played about with are not wanted
