Default getting annoyed now

been looking to buy a new sccoby for about a month now, i originally had a budget of 14k but have since been able to stretch to 15k.

Looking for an STi with ppp, happy with either a bug eye or blob eye as long as it has ppp, would prefer black.

Im getting soooo pissed off looking thatim considering the first car i test drove.

http://users.autoexposure.co.uk/clas...V715507_1a.jpg

comes with no warranty but is now only 12k reduced from 16k, for a quick sale.

I previously posted regarding this and got told to avoid it due to no warranty, but im getting so fooked off because i cannot find another within 400 miles im debating it.

Do you think this is a good deal bearing in mind i would get it checked by rac?

Trust me mate its worth hanging on for the right car, it took me ages to find a unmolested late Classic (3 months)

best to hang on that to end up with a dog

If you get it checked by RAC or Subaru specialist and speak to previous owner then why not if ok. Especially if you can get a Subaru warranty on it.

Mate with an octavia vrs keeps on that his car is quick, 'good car but not quick' i reply.

I might be stating the obvious here but look on here or put a wanted ad in the wanted section.

Woudl imagine Scoobynetters (the majority) look after their cars better as well

That does look to be a genuine STI with the Bremob brakes, larger scoop nad sti front bumper or someone has gone to a lot of trouble to make a good replica.

Nice car regardless and price could be haggled. could be worth viewing if its a genuine sti with ppp.

Yeah i've just noticed the Brembo brakes, would be a fool to spend all that on a boggo WRX.

have had a wanted add up for a few weeks now.
Just emailed the guy.
Problem is everyone i find is always 200-250 + niles away, factor in the cost of petrol and it becomes £2-300 on a car i may not buy. (existing car does 20mpg at best)

For the right car you have to be willing to travel, for me that meant importing it all the way from Japan!

Where are you mate?

Incidentally i sold an old Golf 1.6 Driver and teh guy came from bloody Cambridge.

Worth it for the right car, at 30mpg taking it easy a 500 mile round trip should only cost 70 quid tops.

i do Brighton a lot from GTR Manchester and it aint that bad

There was several STi's for sale on here last time I looked! Make sure you get a blobeye for that money, I'm sure it will depreciate less than a bugeye.

Hasn't helped me sell mine Can't help the original poster as mine's a WRX PPP (albeit a WRX PPP that has no problems showing a clean pair of heels to many STi's ) but it seems people don't consider how much better a truly loved car can be over a low mileage a-b rep/family tool

Just in case

Looks like a good buy to me. It's a 2003 car, so the std Manufacturers warrranty would be running out sometime this year, anyway. It has a full service history, is HPI clear, low milage, PPP, I don't recall how many owners- I'd want to see one -two at the most- with that milage. I'd also want a full RAC or specialist inspection. If it gets through all that, you might get yourself a bargin.

Do you like it in Silver though. You have to live with it and the colour will NOT be cheap to change!

I've got an idea, why not buy Corradoboy's car, with the mods it has it must be similar to an STi, it's up for about £12k and looks immaculate, it's even got the STi spoiler on it. Problem solved, what are you waiting for. Do I get 10%commission on the sale?

No, but I'll pop you a free Magic Tree in the post

And IMHO my car is better than an STi in some respects. I find the STi 6sp gearbox tiresome, although the MY06 with more torque removes some of the need to be constantly flicking up and down. The standard STi suspension, although better than standard WRX suspension, is no match for the AST's and Whiteline goodies on mine, offering supreme cornering confidence at some silly speeds with none of that bobbing from the back end that STi's have. I would however like the STi quick rack, the extra diff for making the car more adjustable mid-bend and the Brembo's, although once suitably upgraded the 4 pots are adequate.

That'll have to do then.

Seriously though, if I was in this guys position that's what I'd do, if I had £15k to spend.

the pics dont work on that link!

I am really after an STi with PPP, thats what i test drove and loved the car, couldnt bring myself to have any less performance than that.
How does a PPP'd wrx compare to a PPP'd STI?

I must also echoe what has been said above about being patient. I test drove a few and visited several. In the end, I was advertising on the wanted section here and ended up buying from a guy who stayed about 20 miles from me!! The car was (and still is) minted and I am so glad I waited. At one point I was about to buy one from a dealer that did not have the book stamped for the 10k service. Make sure you get a mint one with FSSH etc. Also make sure you get the exact specification (including colour) that you set out to get otherwise you will be saying 'I wish I had spent that bit more/ waited and got.......' Corradoboy - I saw your advert a while back and I am sure your car will make an excellent car for someone. Buying a slightly modified car from someone who loves their car via the Scoobynet is the way forward - you just get so much more history with the car - I checked out all the previous owners threads to see if there were any problems - and there were none of course!!!

Lets just say I've been in Daves car and it would have shown my sti (ppp) a clean pair of heels on the roads we were on. I've realised straight line speed isn't that important to me anymore and I'm now looking at getting a simiar suspension set up to his.

Still wont be able to live with him in the bends though....................
